Fulbright U.S. Student Program

UM Campus deadline for all materials: August 26, 2024
National Deadline: early-October 

The U.S. Student Fulbright grants support an individually designed study/ research plan, artistic project or English Teaching Assistantship that will take place during one academic year in a country outside the U.S. Applicants may be undergraduate seniors who anticipate graduating, master’s or Ph.D. degree candidates, and/or young professionals. Application is limited to one country program or geographic region.

Each Fulbright grant covers round-trip transportation to and from host country, language or orientation courses (where appropriate), tuition (where appropriate), supplemental health and accident insurance, a stipend for the academic year based on living cost in host country, and books or research allowance in some cases.

TO APPLY

  • Download and follow these UM Campus submission instructions for Fulbright Study/Research Grants or Fulbright English Teaching Assistantships.   
  • Review the videos & tutorials section on the Fulbright website under the "About" tab to learn more about the programs offered, application components, and program-specific questions.
  • Notify the Office of Prestigious Awards and Fellowships of your intent to apply by emailing prestigiousawards@miami.edu.
  • If you miss the campus deadline, you can still apply for the grant by the national deadline, but you will not receive feedback on your application or receive advice from the PAF office.

NOTE:  Advisors in the Office of Prestigious Awards and Fellowships are able to provide feedback on your application materials prior to the campus deadline, however, there will be no individual meetings or calls scheduled between August 12 and the campus deadline. Application materials should be sent to the Office of Prestigious Awards and Fellowships (prestigiousawards@miami.edu) for feedback.
