First Year Fellows support the purpose of the Office of Academic Enhancement through their efforts to expose students to campus resources and opportunities, encourage students by serving as an advocate and mentor for their professional and personal growth, engage students by connecting them with faculty and campus partners, and to empower students by motivating them to take ownership of their education and learn to advoacate for themselves along their journey.

 The Office of Academic Enhancement seeks academically engaged students interested in gaining leadership experience and providing guidance and mentorship to first year residential students.  Join our team, and apply to become a First Year Fellow! 

 FYF Information Sessions

Come learn more about the position, what we're looking for, and what it's like to be a part of our team!  All applicants are required to attend and check-in at an FYF Information Session where we are going to cover some important information about the position, such as some requirements, but also for some current FYFs to share their experiences.

 Application Process

The application period for the 2018-2019 academic year is now closed.  Please check back after November 1, 2018 for the 2019-2020 academic year.

All applicants are required to:

  • Attend and sign-in at one FYF Information Session (schedule above)
  • Submit an online application with a cover letter and resume
  • Submit two online recommendations completed by two different references that speak to your knowledge, skills, and abilities related to academic engagement and work ethic.

Friday, 2/16 Positions offered
Friday, 2/23 by 4:30 PM Acceptance of the position due
Sunday, 4/15 FYF Training Kickoff
